The Resort at Dolphin Heads

It wasn't a new facility but clean, excellent location, beautiful surroundings and had everything we needed. I would recommend anyone who wants budget accommodation, value for money 🙂💰

The location, pool, bar and restaurant are all amazing. It was lovely and quiet with spectacular views of the Barrier reef and the islands

I had my wedding here at Dolphin Heads Resort in August 2024. Our wedding turned out to be everything I could've wanted. I did have a wedding coordinator who did the wedding decoration, plus coordination of the event. The day was perfect. The water was glistening, the pool was immaculate and same with the rooms. Staff were accommodating on our wedding weekend. Thank you for our special day/weekend there. Salt Restaurant beautiful food also.

Visited 'The Resort' for four nights. The location is fantastic. However, the place is run down, dirty and staff not friendly. When checking in, we got here is your keys, nothing else. No welcome, no do's and don'ts! Our room was very tired. Bathroom in need of a facelift. We were on the bottom floor, OMG our neighbour above began rearranging furniture at 5am Sunday morning for two hours. So much for the sleep in! A table over looking the water would have been lovely to sit at, but I've tried for the last two days and it had not been cleaned. A previous guest had enjoyed, I believe chocolate cake & ice cream and it was all over the place. Tried to get dinner on Sunday night at the on site restaurant, staff member advised, not open! I'm led to believe the units are privately owned. If be disappointed if I had this team managing it for me.

I had the best view overlooking the ocean. Room was clean. My only complaint is the smoking on the balcony and rooms underneath. Not pleasant for non smokers. I do think you need to rethink this and not allow smoking so close to other people It did spoil my time on the balcony and had to go inside many times to escape the cigarette smoke and people coughing.

The location of this place is amazing. The oceanview rooms, I think, are in the process of being renovated as we had two rooms, side by side, 416 and 417 on the bottom floor. 416 was recently renovated (apart from the bathroom) and was quite nice, but I was disappointed with 417 as it smelled really bad, the floors felt really dirty under your feet, and the shower leaked and was riddled with mould. The TV remote had a bandaid on the back holding the battery cover in place. The blankets smelled old and like they had not been washed in a long time. The restaurant, however, was amazing!! Super big meals for affordable prices. The menu in the rooms needs to be updated, though, as there were a lot of items that were no longer being served in the restaurant, such as the lamb shanks.

Awfull room conditions ( big leak in the bathroom from toilet) When telling it to reception… just didnt apologise or care!!!! Avoid absolutely as overall rooms are very old and not maintained. Only good think the sea view and swimmingpool.

Totally disgusted and would never recommend this place to anybody. We have stayed here at a previous occasions on our way back from the Gold Coast and so we made a reservation on the 2nd of February for a 1 night stay on the 4th of May for a family occasion. Money was transferred from my account on the 28th of April as the booking had passed the non-refundable period - all good as we had accomodation for the night. We drove down to Mackay from Townsville on the day and receive a voice message to call the Resort urgently at around 10:30am. We call back and are told that there has been a fire in our room and has taken out 2 other adjoining rooms also. We had family who had stayed the night before and were eating breakfast there at the time - they knew nothing of the fire. So, essentially, whoever we have spoken to from the resort has lied and given our room to someone else for a dearer rate, or perhaps someone who booked for more than one night. The resort’s way of dealing with us, with no offer to help find other accommodation is poor customer service and disgusting human behaviour in general. I had to give at least 1 star to post this but does not even deserve it.
